Five Below Friday: Chili-Crusted Tilapia

I got this recipe off Pinterest a few years back and it’s a regular in my diet. Serve with asparagus for a damn good dinner.

Ingredients:

2 Tbsp chili powder

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 lb tilapia fillets

Directions: Combine chili powder, garlic powder, and salt on a plate or in a medium bowl. Dredge fillets in spices to coat. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, spraying first with coconut oil spray, or use a small amount of olive oil. Add tilapia and cook until opaque in the center, turning half way (about 5-7 minutes total, depending on the size of the fillets). Divide into 3-4oz servings and serve over asparagus.

For asparagus:

Turn broiler onto high. On a lined cookie sheet, drizzle 1-2 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil or macadamia nut oil over asparagus and toss. Sprinkle with pepper and sea salt. Place under broiler approximately 8 minutes or until desired doneness.
